What makes a travel or luggage ad actually work?
People buy luggage once every few years, so a travel ad has to make the old bag feel like the problem. The ones that scale on Meta pick one moment of a trip and fix it: waiting at baggage claim, unpacking at the hotel, a suitcase rolling away, a neck that won't stay up on the plane. Six of these 25 ads lead with a single product claim, and the rest lean on how long the product lasts, who trusts it or what the airline will allow.
Fix one moment of the trip
Tortuga skips baggage claim, Solgaard removes unpacking, Away stops the suitcase rolling off and Trtl fixes sleep on the plane. Each ad picks one travel annoyance and builds the whole message around it.
Show the design difference
July's trunk shape, Arlo Skye's one-side opening, Antler's “lightest suitcase, by far” and Aerless's vacuum bags all sell a visible design change. Suitcases look alike, so one clear difference is the ad.
Prove it lasts
TOM BIHN's customers are “still carrying Synapses they bought well over a decade ago”, Osprey's packs are “among the bestselling travel packs of all time” and Nomatic quotes a buyer saying it's “worth every penny”. Longevity justifies the price of a bag bought rarely.
Answer the airline and safety question
Bagsmart says “airline-approved” and “fits under the seat”, Pacsafe speaks to solo travellers about theft and Faye promises cover without “a fine print marathon”. Practical worries stop travel purchases, so these ads answer them first.
None of this is unique to any one brand — it's a pattern across every ad below. Use the "why it works" note under each example to spot which lever a given brand is pulling, and borrow the tactic rather than the execution.
Travel & Luggage ad do's and don'ts
Do
- Pick one travel moment and show it going better
- Demonstrate the design feature on video, in use
- State size and airline fit in plain numbers
- Use long-term owners and reviews as proof of durability
- Time new colours and collaborations to peak booking seasons
Don't
- Don't show a suitcase on a white background with no context
- Don't claim “durable” without a warranty or a test
- Don't hide dimensions — carry-on buyers check them first
- Don't run the same creative year-round; travel demand is seasonal
- Don't lead with a discount when the product has a clear design story

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a luggage ad convert?
One clear reason the old suitcase is the problem. The strongest luggage ads in this file fix a single travel moment (Tortuga, Solgaard, Away), show a visible design difference (July, Arlo Skye, Antler) or prove the bag lasts (TOM BIHN, Osprey, Nomatic).
Should luggage ads use video or images?
Video for features, images for offers and launches. Of these 25 ads, 14 are video, 10 are images and one is a carousel. July, Away, Arlo Skye and DELSEY use video to show how a feature works; Monos, Samsonite and TUMI use images for a sale, new colours and a seasonal collection.
How do travel accessory brands advertise?
By fixing sleep, space or safety. Trtl, Cabeau and Ostrichpillow all sell rest on a plane, Aerless sells packing space and Pacsafe sells peace of mind for solo travellers. The products are small, so each ad leads with one result.
How do eSIM and travel insurance ads work?
They remove a hassle. Airalo offers data in 200+ destinations with “no contracts needed” and Faye opens with “no fine print marathon? No 2-hour phone calls?”. Both sell speed and simplicity against a slow, confusing default.
Do collaborations and new colours work for luggage?
Yes, for existing fans. CALPAK's Miffy collection, Samsonite's new Freeform shades and TUMI's Deep Pine give people who already know the brand a reason to buy now. They work best alongside ads that explain the product to new buyers.
Where do these ads come from?
Meta's public Ad Library — the same tool anyone can use to search active Facebook and Instagram ads. Every ad here was running when we captured it, and each card links to that brand's live ads in the Ad Library so you can verify it yourself.
How do you pick which ads to include?
Brand-first, not keyword-first. Travel keywords return a lot of airlines, hotels and booking sites, so we search brands that make their own travel products, skip catalog ads with no written hook and keep one ad per brand.
How often is this page updated?
Monthly, with any ad that has stopped running replaced on the refresh.
Can I request my brand's ad be removed or credited differently?
Yes — contact us and we'll update or remove it. This page is an independent editorial showcase and isn't sponsored by or affiliated with any brand shown.
