Eco-friendly brands have a strange problem. Shoppers say they care, and many do: in a 2024 PwC survey,
80% of consumers said they'd pay more for sustainably produced goods, an average premium of 9.7%. Then they get to checkout and compare your price with the conventional option.
Closing that gap takes two skills. You need a brand story that's specific and provable, and you need paid media and email that turn interest into orders at a CAC you can live with.
We reviewed 33 US agencies that work with sustainable and mission-driven brands. Below are the 11 worth a call, with the same fields for each so you can compare them side by side.
What does a sustainable marketing agency do?
It helps eco-friendly brands sell on their values without overclaiming. That covers brand positioning and packaging, green-claims review, content and SEO, and for eCommerce brands, paid social, search and email. Many of these agencies are Certified B Corps themselves, so they hold their own operations to the same standard.
How much does a sustainable marketing agency cost?
None of the agencies on this list publish pricing on their own sites. Based on their Clutch profiles, minimum projects range from $1,000+ (Two Octobers, NextLeft) to $10,000+ (Grounded World), and hourly rates run $50 to $199. Brand and packaging projects are usually one-off fees. Performance marketing is usually a monthly retainer plus ad spend.
Do sustainability claims grow sales?
The data says yes. A McKinsey and NielsenIQ study of 600,000 US products found that items with ESG-related claims grew 28% over five years, against 20% for products without them. Those products delivered 56% of all growth in the study.
How we picked these agencies
We reviewed 33 US agencies that market sustainable and eco-friendly brands and scored each one on public information (their own websites, case studies, Clutch profiles and the B Lab directory):
- Niche experience (25%): named sustainable or mission-driven clients and B Corp status
- Proven results (25%): published metrics, case studies and awards
- Client reviews (20%): Clutch or Google rating and review volume
- Channel coverage (15%): brand, paid social, search, email, SEO
- Transparency (15%): published pricing, minimums and contract terms
We excluded ESG-reporting consultancies, nonprofit-only shops, agencies with no sustainable clients and agencies headquartered outside the US. Case study numbers are each agency's own reported results.
